Love Me  — 2022

The reflections of me in the broken pieces of the mirror interact with the world in their own ways. I am a lot of things. I’m a spoiled daughter, a cool aunt, a sweet friend. ⁣

But none of these pieces of me seemed to matter when Christina Yuna Lee was stabbed 40 times in her bathroom in chinatown, NY two weeks ago. None of these seemed to matter when Michelle Go was pushed into the path of incoming subway in Manhattan two months ago, only God knows why but presumably just because she was Asian. ⁣

This is a zig. The frame says love us. This is me trying to tell the world to see other pieces of me. Other pieces of Asian and Asian American women. The zag lies in the future.
